Solid wood is a natural material with variations in structure and colour. Wood is sensitive to large differences in humidity and temperature, so it is recommended to keep both conditions as stable as possible. When exposed to the daylight, wood becomes more beautiful over time, so each piece will have its own change of colour and patina. This is what makes the Gommaire furniture collection so unique and individual.
The indoor collection is made from massive French oak or sustainable teak wood. The sustainable teak comes in a variety of the colours, such as the Authentic Grey and Fume which are Gommaire’s signature finishes. These finishes are still applied by hand in their atelier and can be easily combined with any of their other collections. The Fume pieces have been treated with special furniture wax and will develop a more intense patina over time when polished with a soft cloth.
